Dr. Rolando Garcia

Campus President, Broward College's South Campus

Dr. Rolando Garcia is the Campus President of Broward College's South Campus. He joined Broward College in 2014 as Dean of Academic Resources and Assessment where he led efforts to advance and promote the services of the Academic Success Centers. He successfully established and implemented a QUEUE Management System college-wide to support services in student work areas.

Prior to joined Broward College, Dr. Garcia worked for over two years as the Dean of Learning and Technology Resources at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) which the second largest multi-campus community College in the United States. Previous to NOVA, Dr. Garcia gained over 10 years of teaching and administrative experience at Miami Dade College where he held several leadership positions in academic support which included Campus Director of Learning Resources and Director of Computer Courtyard.

Northern Virginia Community College and Miami Dade College are leader colleges with Achieving the Dream and Dr. Garcia has been on the forefront of several initiatives with respect to sustained student success improvement.

Born and raised in Miami Florida, he is a first generation graduate born from Cuban immigrants that arrived in Florida in the 1960’s. Dr. García earned a Doctorate Degree in Higher Education from Florida International University (FIU), a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Florida International University (FIU) and a bachelor’s degree in psychobiology from University of Miami.
